'Sons of Anarchy' Creator Kurt Sutter Mulls Return to Twitter (Video)
At FX’s premiere event, his wife, actress Katey Sagal, also spoke on what viewers can expect in Season 4.
When Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons of Anarchy, unplugged himself from Twitter on August 13, fans and the media were shocked. The outspoken showrunner had been one of the most vocal people in the industry, expressing his thoughts on the FX show’s Emmy snub, and AMC firing The Killing showrunner Frank Darabont.
But all hope may not be lost, as Sutter told The Hollywood Reporter at the Season 4 premiere event on Tuesday. Sutter and his wife, Katey Sagal who stars as Gemma on Sons of Anarchy, spoke to THR together.

“I do miss Twitter. I’ll be back,” said Sutter. “I need a graceful re-enty so I don’t look like—“
“A hypocrite,” said Sagal.
“Like a desperate hypocrite douchebag who was gone for a week and then came back,” said Sutter.

Sutter also brought the joke into the screening for the explosive first episode of Season 4, by greeting the packed theater with, “Now that I'm not on Twitter, there's so much that I want to f---ing say.”

Sutter also told THR, that he does have a general plan for the show, but he tries to keep the story adaptable to change.
“I have a general idea and blue print of where the show is going, but it’s always informed by what my actors do and what my writers bring to it,” said Sutter. “I try to sort of hold on to that vision loosely so it doesn’t put me in a box. I’m open to having it change and morph and become something else as well.”

Katey Sagal, who won a Golden Globe this year for her performance as Gemma, the matriarch of the motorcycle club, said she has enjoyed her character’s growth and complexity.
“It’s a very interesting season because it questions all their loyalties and all their relationships, amongst each other, not necessarily from an outside foe,” she said of Season 4.

In Season 4, the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club is freshly out of a jail, and has money on the mind. Jax (Charlie Hunnam), comes out of jail with plans to leave the club, but stepfather and leader of the club (Ron Perlman) and his mother (Sagal) may not let him go that easily.
The event was to celebrate both the premiere of Season 4, which will air on Tuesday, September 6 on FX, and the release of the Season 3 DVD.
