Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights to Pedro Almodovar’s Silencio.
Almodovar's 20th feature stars Emma Suarez and Adriana Ugarte, both playing a woman named Julieta. As she struggles to survive on the verge of madness, Julieta finds her life is marked by a series of journeys revolving around the disappearance of her daughter.
SPC has a long history with Almodovar, working with him on eight films: I'm So Excited, The Skin I Live In, Broken Embraces, Volver, Bad Education, All About My Mother, Talk to Her and The Flower of My Secret.
