Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has upped Jason Spivak to exec vp of worldwide digital distribution.
Spivak, who reports to Jim Underwood, executive vp, worldwide digital and commercial strategy, will continue to lead the team responsible for SPHE's transactional digital business around the world, according to the company.
Spivak is a home entertainment vet and held physical and digital management positions in the business. He was previously SPHE worldwide digital distribution’s senior vp and general manager and before that, the division’s senior vp, strategic development.
“Jason has overseen tremendous growth in our digital transactional business,” said Underwood in a statement. “This has been done, in large part, by his forging strong partnerships with our customers and working with them to innovate and drive increased business in this area, especially through the ongoing roll-out of UltraViolet and cloud storage systems as well as the introduction of new and emerging business models that are critical to insuring on-going, intelligently managed growth for our home entertainment business.”
Before Sony Pictures, Spivak worked at MGM Home Entertainment in both London and Los Angeles.
