Sony's Jeffrey Godsick to Head New Brand Management Division

Jeffrey Godsick, who joined Sony last May as executive vp worldwide partnerships for the motion picture group, will head up a new brand management division for that Sony Pictures Entertainment unit.

He’ll report to Josh Greenstein, president of worldwide distribution and marketing, who announced the new division Thursday.

With the new title of executive vp worldwide partnerships and brand management, Godsick and his team will be charged with long-term branding initiatives for tentpole films like Hotel Transylvania, Jumanji, Spider-Man and Smurfs.

“These strategies will enhance our collaboration across other Sony Corporation businesses, expand our IP into cross-media opportunities beyond film, and develop new revenue streams. The new structure will offer more concentrated resources to support our growing global infrastructure, and further our ongoing commitment to leverage films for added value,” Greenstein said in a memo to the staff.

Jay Galston, formally senior vp business development, will shift into brand management as senior vp brand strategy and business development, reporting to Godsick.
