Sophia Amoruso Launches GIRLBOSS Foundation
The Nasty Gal CEO's latest endeavor will award quarterly grants to aspiring girlbosses
Sophia Amoruso, founder of the online fashion empire Nasty Gal, is known for spearheading the #GIRLBOSS movement (and penning a best-selling book of the same name). Now, the retail queen and business guru is looking to further engage and inspire fellow kick-ass women with the announcement of the #GIRLBOSS Foundation.
Each quarter, the foundation will award three to five grants (ranging from $5,000 to $15,000) to female entrepreneurs in the fields of fashion, music, design and the arts. A committee comprising Nasty Gal employees from different departments will vote on applicants, who are encouraged to pitch their innovative ideas, budget outlines and need for financial support — and to get creative in the process, natch.
