South Shore has found a head of production in J.J. Jamieson. His appointment at the stateside joint venture between Hispanic programming leader Grupo Televisa and Lionsgate Television signals further investment in the two-year-old television development and production operation.
The newly-created position finds Jamieson reporting to Televisa USA cco Michael Garcia and Lionsgate Television exec vp Chris Selak -- the latter of whom just inked a multi-year deal to stay on.
In addition to focusing on Jamieson’s English-language originals, he will oversee all talent production deals -- which already include George Lopez's Travieso Prods., Zoe Saldana's Cinestar Prods. and Wilmer Valderrama's WV Enterprises.
Jamieson, who's held positions at NBC and Warner Bros.-based shingle Last Straw Productions, most recently served as head of TV development at Bob Cooper’s Landscape Entertainment. There he managed the company's first-look deal with FremantleMedia.
One of South Shore's debut projects, ABC Family co-production Chasing Life, premieres this week.
