Speed TV and iPowow Pact for Real-Time Motorsport Fan Voting
The cable network opens polling system to "NASCAR RaceDay" viewers looking to share opinions and predictions as events unfold on the TV screen.
TORONTO – The polls have opened, as Speed TV looks to turbocharge NASCAR fan engagement.
The U.S. cable channel has pacted with participation TV platform iPowow! for full-throttle live interactive and real-time voting by motorsport fans.
Speed TV’s NASCAR RaceDay pre-race show will use the iPowow technology to show viewers’ shared opinions and predictions as real events unfold on screen.
“The voting power of iPowow technology brings our Speed viewers even closer to the RaceDay action by allowing them to share their excitement for the sport interactively from the convenience of their own home,” Kevin Annison, Speed VP of digital and interactive media, said of the on-screen fan voting that has boosted audience engagement.
Motorsport fans, already major social media users, will be able to vote via iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android, and the Internet.
To boost audience interaction, the iPowow voting app enables a Speed TV host to pose a question, have fans vote immediately, and even change their vote in real time during an on-air debate.
The iPowow! platform was earlier used by the CBC to generate real time data polling in response to Canadian Dragon’s Den viewer reactions to the entrepreneur pitches and the judges’ verdicts.
And iPowow! USA enabled the NBC/Miss Universe live telecast to allow global viewers to vote and see the results instantly on-air.
