Fans of Spider-Man can use the Web to spin their own superhero tale thanks to a new promotion from Target, Columbia Pictures and Marvel.

Dubbed "Spider-Man 3: Spin Your Own Webisode," the online contest tied to the May 4 release of "Spider-Man 3" calls for film enthusiasts to create their own webisode featuring the Marvel Comics hero and his villains.

Entries can run from 15 seconds to 2 minutes in the form of stop-motion, live-action, 3-D or cell animation. Participants can upload their creations until Thursday at www.target.com/spiderman3.

"The 'Spider-Man' audience has always surprised us with their ingenuity and creativity," said Dwight Caines, executive vp worldwide digital marketing strategy for the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group.

Fans who go online will narrow down the initial entries, with a panel of judges from Target, Columbia Pictures and Marvel then determining the top 10. From there, visitors to the site will determine the top five before "Spider-Man 3' producers Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad and Grant Curtis choose the top three, which could be included on the "Spider-Man 3" bonus DVD.

Other prizes include a $1,000 Target gift card, a Sony miniDV Handycam Camcorder and portable DVD player.
