The longtime producer for Spike Jonze films will lead development and production under the newly formed banner, Vice Studios.

Natalie Farrey, a longtime producer for director Spike Jonze, has been tapped as head of film at Vice Media.

In her new position, Farrey will oversee development and production of Vice Film projects under the recently formed Vice Studios banner. She will report to Vice CCO Eddy Moretti and executive creative director Danny Gabai out of the Los Angeles office.

Farrey's feature credits include Her and Where the Wild Things Are. Most recently, she produced Jonze’s short film My Mutant Brain for Kenzo perfume, which starred Margaret Qualley.

“I’ve known Eddy and Danny for many years now, and have often marveled at their fearlessness and pure love for filmmaking," Farrey said Thursday in a statement. "I cannot wait to work with them in creating meaningful, thoughtful, scary, gut-wrenching, funny, inspiring films!”

Vice Films' recent productions include the Jason Momoa-starrer The Bad Batch, which was produced with Annapurna.

At the beginning of the year, Vice Media, led by Shane Smith, announced the creation of Vice Documentary Films, which also falls under the umbrella of Vice Studios. Vice Docs is headed by Jason Mojica and Brendan Fitzgerald.
