Spike Renews Nightlife Series 'Bar Rescue'
The cable network has ordered a 10-episode second season, to premiere summer 2012.
Spike TV has renewed hourlong original series, Bar Rescue.
The cable network has picked up 10 episodes for the second season, it was announced Wednesday by Sharon Levy, Spike's executive vice president of original series. Production begins this winter with new episodes airing summer 2012.
Bar Rescue has steadily increased in the ratings since launching this summer. Sunday's episode, against heavy competition from the NFL, delivered a series high 1.3 million total viewers. The premiere drew 742,000 in mid-July.
Bar Rescue, hosted by Jon Taffer, centers on failing nightlife establishments one more chance to succeed. During the series, one bar each week nationwide is remade with Taffer's help.
The series is produced by 3 Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA and executive producers J.D. Roth and Todd A. Nelson. Tim Duffy oversees for Spike.
