HS Media's Exclusive Film will sell projectsBuyers landing at this year's American Film Market will be courted by a blast from the past, a startup international sales company that unites movies from two iconic production banners: Los Angeles' Spitfire Films and London-based Hammer Films.
The two production banners, owned and run by HS Media, will find their projects sold by startup banner Exclusive Film Distribution, HS Media's newest arm. It's named after the original sales company that sold Hammer titles in the 1940s and '50s.
Fresh titles being touted through the company include Peter Weir's "The Way Back" from Spitfire and a trio of Hammer horror titles on the label's current production conveyor belt.
The three Hammer titles include "The Quiet Ones," a project billed as a haunting thriller inspired by a true story to be directed by Jesse Dylan.
Exclusive Film Distribution is based in London and headed by veteran sales and financing executive Guy East, who chairs the company. Andy Mayson is managing director at the company, while another familiar market face, Peter Naish, heads up the company's sales efforts.
