Amy Carney has been promoted to president of advertiser sales at Sony Pictures Television, overseeing the sale of commercial inventory in all of the company's first-run and off-network syndicated programs.

Carney also oversees the sale of commercial inventory for all of Sony Pictures Entertainment's digital businesses, for Sony BMG's Music Box and for In Demand's high-definition channel Mojo. She directs the sales teams based in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Carney reports to SPT president Steve Mosko, who praised the executive.

"Amy is an expert in the evolving ad sales arena and is using her wide range of experience to master the opportunities in SPT's businesses across several platforms," he said. "She is also an impeccable manager who cultivates talent and empowers her team to rise with her."

Based in New York, Carney joined SPT in 2003 and was promoted a year later to executive vp, heading her division.

Before joining SPT, Carney was vp sales at Univision Online in New York, where she launched the company's online sales division and created the national sales and client services team.

From 1999-2000, she was a GM at Ticketmaster Online-Citysearch Inc., launching a local content information Web site and creating the sales, content, marketing and operations management team. She also has served as general sales manager at WTVR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Richmond, Va., and as vp/general sales manager at Telerep Inc. in New York.
