According to a Star India statement, Shankar will discuss the journey of the company and how, in its two-decade history, it has become a leading player in the Indian media industry by using its programming to spark national discussions on a range of social and political issues. Most notably, the network's hit talk show Satyamev Jayate -- hosted by top Bollywood star Aamir Khan and focusing on India’s pressing social concerns -- has become a premier platform for the discussion of social issues.

Star India's broadcasting network runs more than 40 channels in 7 languages, claiming a reach of more than 600 million viewers every week across India and 100 other countries.

Since 1995, the Paley International Council Summit has provided an independent forum that brings together chief executives of the world’s most important media, entertainment and technology companies to advance the exchange of ideas and to foster community among them.
