According to a Star India statement, Shankar will discuss the journey of the company and how, in its two-decade history, it has become a leading player in the Indian media industry by using its programming to spark national discussions on a range of social and political issues. Most notably, the network's hit talk show Satyamev Jayate -- hosted by top Bollywood star Aamir Khan and focusing on India’s pressing social concerns -- has become a premier platform for the discussion of social issues.

Star India's broadcasting network runs more than 40 channels in 7 languages, claiming a reach of more than 600 million viewers every week across India and 100 other countries.
