'Star Wars: Episode I' Actor Dies During London Theater Rehearsal
Khan Bonfils collapsed during a rehearsal of 'Dante's Inferno' in London
Khan Bonfils, who appeared in Star Wars: Episode 1 — The Phantom Menace and also in the last 007 outing Skyfall, died during a rehearsal for a play in London.
The actor was rehearsing for Dante’s Inferno, which was due to open this week at The Rag Factory theater. He reportedly collapsed and paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.
In a statement published in U.K. newspaper The Independent, the Craft Theater Company, who was putting on the play, said: "With great sadness, we announce the death of Khan Bonfils. His sudden loss is a tragedy and he will be sorely missed."
Aside from Star Wars, in which he played Jedi master Saesee Tiin, Bonfils also appeared in Batman Begins and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.
