Director Stephen Gaghan Lists Brentwood Home (Exclusive)
The "Traffic" filmmaker puts his gated, Nantucket-style compound on the market for $4.9 million.
Stephen Gaghan and his wife, Minnie Mortimer, have put their Brentwood home on the market for $4.995 million. The 5,267-square-foot, two-story, shingled structure is located on a highly private, acre-plus lot in a gated section of Brentwood.
Gaghan, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter for Steven Soderbergh's 2000 film Traffic, married fashion designer Mortimer in 2007. The couple created breezy, California-style interiors that contrasted with the more traditional Nantucket-style architecture of the home that was built in 1946. Mortimer, who launched her own fashion line in 2009 and more recently partnered with California brand Three Dots, was responsible for much of the home's eclectic and chic look.
With five bedrooms, light-drenched public rooms, an updated kitchen and a sprawling master suite with super-sized closets, the house includes a detached guesthouse and separate screening room with a private entrance and fireplace. The large lot -- with panoramic city, mountain and ocean views -- also includes a private wooded and hillside area with zip lines.
Richard Stearns of Partners Trust has the listing.
