Steve Carell's 4 Post-'Office' Plans

The actor, who is leaving his role as Michael Scott on the NBC comedy next month, has a slew of film projects in the works.
Steve Carell's The Office character, Michael Scott, proposed to girlfriend Holly (Amy Ryan) on Thursday night's episode and announced plans to follow her to Colorado. With Carell set to depart the NBC comedy April 28, what's next for the actor?
1. Carell first stars in the film Crazy, Stupid, Love, which opens July 29. The Warner Bros. movie, which also stars Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon, centers on a father (Carell) whose life unravels while he deals with a marital crisis and tries to manage his relationship with his children.
2. Carell is attached to star in New Line's magician comedy Burt Wonderstone, playing a traditional magic man who is dethroned by a hip younger illusionist and must then find a way to rediscover his love for magic. As The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported last month, "Office" helmer Charles McDougall is in talks to direct the picture.
3. Carell also is looking at taking a turn for the serious, attaching himself last month to star in Dogs of Babel, as THR first reported. Carell will also produce the drama for Mandate. It's an adaptation of a novel by Carolyn Parkhurst described as a tragic story of love and loss centers on a linguistics professor (Carell), who returns home one day to find his wife dead in their backyard. Though police rule her death an accident, the professor is not quite sure. With the only witness to the death being the couple's dog, the grief-stricken man endeavors to teach it to talk in the hopes that he can uncover what really happened.
4. Carell also is reportedly attached to star with Meryl Streep in Mandate Pictures' Great Hope Springs. Carell to play a marriage therapist who tries to help a middle-aged couple rekindle their relationship.
