Westboro Baptist Church Tweets Plan to Picket Steve Jobs’ Funeral With an iPhone

Leaders of Kansas' Westboro Baptist Church, notorious for picketing at the funerals of soldiers and gay teenagers, have tweeted plans to picket the funeral of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. And they did it on an iPhone.

Church leader Margie Phelps used her iPhone to post "No peace for man who served self, not God. #hellgreetedhim Westboro must picket funeral. #warnliving MT @applenws: RIP Steve Jobs 1955-2011."

After a website called Joe.ie (It's man stuff) pointed out the irony, Phelps responded, "Rebels mad cuz I used iPhone to tell you Steve Jobs is in hell.God created iPhone for that purpose! :)"

She then continued to the Toronto Sun, "Jobs spent his days teaching sin. He's in hell. Tell your neighbor THAT or hush!"

The Westboro Baptist Church, which is outspoken in its anti-gay rhetoric, has also protested at the funerals of Elizabeth Edwards and the victims of the Arizona shooting that injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

The Apple co-founder died on Wednesday at age 56.
