Steve Martin Admits His Jury Tweets Were Fake
The comedic comments generated by Steve Martin during his supposed jury duty this week were merely new one-liners. Martin's publicist, Alan Nierob. Nierob told the New York Post, "He's not serving jury duty, just tweeting as usual. It's really great material, don't you think?"
Martin weighed in on various aspects of his fake civic service through his SteveMartinToGo Twitter account. Tweets ranged from "defendant looks like a murderer. GUILTY" to "I'm cracking up defense with my jokes. Judge not pleased. Defendant finds me funny. Nice guy!"
Martin's latest Twitter entry on Thursday confirmed his ruse, "Serious note: I actually will be on jury duty soon. I urge every citizen to experience it. I've never not been moved by the system."
