The 67-year-old actor, writer and musician has welcomed his first child wife with Anne Stringfield, his rep confirms with The Hollywood Reporter.

The baby arrived in December, according to the New York Post, which first reported the news Wednesday.

"They’ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows," a source was quoted as telling the paper. "Steve’s very private ... They are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby."

Martin married Stringfield, a writer who has worked at The New Yorker, in July 2007 at their LA home, surprising guests including Tom Hanks, Diane Keaton and Carl Reiner who were told they were there for a party, not a wedding

His most recent film credits include the comedies The Big Year (2011), It's Complicated (2009) and Baby Mama (2008).
