The DreamWorks film is based on a children’s book by Michael Morpurgo.

The first poster art for Steven Spielberg’s War Horse debuted this week. The image whispers of an epic adventure tale of a boy and his horse.

The DreamWorks film, which is set to premiere on December 25, is based on the children’s book by Michael Morpurgo. It tells the tale of Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his horse Joey, who are separated when Albert is called to to fight in World War I. “Separated by war. Tested by battle. Bound by friendship,” reads the tagline on the poster.
