Ex-Stone Roses singer arrested in London
Ian Brown being held on suspicion of domestic assaultFormer Stone Roses singer Ian Brown has been arrested in London on suspicion of assaulting his Mexican wife, model and actress Fabiola Quiroz.
Police said they were called to a residential address -- which media reports said was thought to be the couple's home -- in West Kensington just after 8:00 a.m. on Monday after neighbors reported a disturbance.
"On arrival, a 37-year-old woman made an allegation of domestic assault and a 46-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to a West London police station," the Metropolitan police said in a statement.
Brown, who fronted the Stone Roses for 12 years before they split in 1996, was bailed until December pending further enquiries.
The couple married in 1999 and have a son, Emilio, who is aged nine, media reported.
The band from Manchester, one of the pioneering groups of the "Madchester" scene, caused a sensation with the release in 1989 of their acclaimed album "The Stone Roses."
Since the band's break-up, Brown has embarked on a successful solo career.
