Studio 8 Adds to Executive Team With Two New Hires (Exclusive)

Wesley Meehan joins as senior vp, motion picture business and legal affairs and Jill Migicovsky as director/vp, finance.

Jeff Robinov's Studio 8 is expanding its team with the two new hires. Wesley Meehan joins as senior vp, motion picture business and legal affairs and Jill Migicovsky as director/vp, finance.

In addition, Lauren Miller, who previously handled both features and television legal for Studio 8, will now focus solely on the company’s growing TV business as Senior Vice President, TV Business and Legal Affairs.

Meehan, who will report to Lindsey Bayman, head of motion picture and TV business and legal affairs, previously worked at Paramount for nearly seven years at Paramount Pictures, most recently serving as vp in the Office of the General Counsel. He graduated from Stanford Law School and started his career at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. At Studio 8, Meehan will be in charge of negotiating and supervising the documentation of agreements relating to the company’s feature film activities, including development, production, distribution and co-financing arrangements.

Migicovsky will be responsible for the overall direction of all financial budgeting, forecasting, modeling and long-range plans for the company. She most recently worked at 8020 Consulting, where she served as the lead analytical resource for clients in all areas of finance and accounting. Prior to that, she worked at Twentieth Century Fox in the Motion Picture Deal Analysis Group and also spent time at Fox International Channels. Early in her career, Migicovsky was a research associate at Brandes Investment Partners covering the worldwide financials sector.

Studio 8, which was funded in partnership with China's Fosun Group and Sony Pictures Entertainment, will distribute up to six films per year, It has Solutrean currently in production, and Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, in partnership with Sony’s TriStar Pictures, is set to come out in November.
