Chanel Reveals Gisele's "Beauty Secrets" in New Beauty Video Series [YouTube]
For the first episode in its new beauty vlog series "Chanel Beauty Talks," the brand chatted with supermodel Gisele Bundchen to get the scoop on the Brazilian's beauty secrets. Turns out, all you need to get her coveted look is minimal foundation focused around the eyes and the mouth, a touch of lip crayon and a hint of bronzer. (Killer genes don't hurt, either.)
Forever21 Pulls Offensive Men's Tee [Huffington Post]
Certain corners of the Internet were outraged over a men's tee for sale at Forever21 reading, "DON'T SAY MAYBE IF YOU WANT TO SAY NO." Activist groups including Project Consent stated that the tee perpetuated a "blame the victim" mentality with regards to rape. On Monday afternoon, the company pulled the tee from its site and issued a statement apologizing to offended customers.
NYC Mayor's Office and CFDA Partner for "Fashion Forward" Internship Initiative [Fashionista]
The New York City Mayor's Office and the CFDA have joined forces for a new citywide fashion internship initative which will begin this summer. More than 22 brands (Coach, Opening Ceremony and Kate Spade included) from sectors like design, PR and publishing are participating in the program, offering coveted spots to 100 high school and college undergrad students. Applications close April 15.
ModCloth Launches Bridal [WWD]
Retro-inspired brand ModCloth will launch a new bridal collection including wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, shoes and accessories, consisting of both in-house creations and exclusive designs from such labels as Wendy Bird. Dress prices range from $175 to $450 and include straight and plus-sizes. The collection is now available online and will be sold at upcoming pop-up shops, the first of which will open next month in Austin, Texas.
