Style Notes: Ciara is Topshop's New Ambassador; Anna Wintour Joins Mario Testino's Towel Series
Friday fashion fun.
Ciara has officially been named Topshop's new U.S. brand ambassador. The news was announced by Sir Philip Green, the chairman of the U.K.-based Arcadia Group, which owns the brand, on Wednesday evening. No specific details yet on what her exact duties as ambassador will entail, but we're guessing it includes showing off her goodies in Topshop swag. [Footwear News]
Anna Wintour, notoriously serious professional person, got uncharacteristically candid with Mario Testino for his Towel Series. The famed photog captured Wintour and her signature bob while she posed in a terrycloth robe (although sans infamous oversize shades) for his black-and-white photo series. The Vogue editor in chief joins the fashionable company of towel models including Justin Bieber, Blake Lively and Naomi Campbell. [Instagram]
Earlier this week, Kendall Jenner debuted her latest Calvin Klein underwear campaign, and now — in case you forgot what she looked like — you can see the 19-year-old in Fendi's new fall ads, too. Another day, another Jenner campaign. In other news, the ocean is still blue and pigs still cannot fly. [Fashionista]
In light of its recent struggles, J. Crew announced that it would be opening a new, lower-priced division called J. Crew Mercantile, which, although similar to its outlet factory stores, would be open in more locations than just outlet malls. The first of the new stores will open in Dallas this July and will stock men's, women's and children's apparel which, for the time being, will be the same product as the factory stores.
