Iman Remembers David Bowie on Anniversary of His Death [Twitter]
On the one-year anniversary of her late husband, David Bowie's, death, supermodel Iman remembered the pop icon with a photo of a rainbow over the New York City skyline and the hashtags #ForeverAndEver and #BowieForever. She captioned the image with the date of his death, Jan. 10, 2016. Bowie and Iman were married for 24 years before he passed after a long battle with liver cancer. And she's just one of many who have been remembering him today; Lorde and Lady Gaga also posted social media tributes.
& Other Stories Collaborates With Toms [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
H&M's quirky, upscale retailer sister, & Other Stories, is collaborating with L.A.-based Toms shoes on a collection as part of its "co-labs" series. The line features a reinterpretation of the classic Toms shoes silhouette, with styles inspired by Southern California and Venice Beach specifically. The collection will be available in select Toms stores and select & Other Stories stores in spring 2017. & Other Stories has previously produced "co-labs" with Rodarte, Rachel Antonoff and Clare V. & Other Stories opened a store in Beverly Hills last year and has plans for an L.A. studio soon.
The Fashion Law Investigates Legality of "Pay-for-Play" on the Red Carpet [The Fashion Law]
It's no secret that celebrities and their stylists often are compensated for selecting a specific designer's look for a major red-carpet event. However, the pay-for-play practice may violate the FTC Act, writes the popular blog The Fashion Law. The act prohibits "unfair or deceptive acts" that affect commerce; therefore, actresses who endorse brands by working directly with them may be violating the FTC Act by not fully disclosing the nature of their relationship. As The Fashion Law asserts, however, the question comes down to whether or not an actress wearing a dress on a red carpet counts as an endorsement.
L'Oreal Acquires 3 Beauty Brands [Fortune]
On Tuesday, L'Oreal acquired three skin care brands — CeraVe, AcneFree and Ambi — from Valeant Pharmaceuticals for $1.3 billion. The Canadian drugmaker also sold its Dendreon cancer business for $889 million in an effort to pay off its $30 billion debt. The three skin care brands will join L'Oreal's Active Cosmetics category, which has been among its strongest divisions in the past four years.

Aly Raisman and Simone Biles, breakout stars of the 2016 Rio Olympics and members of Team USA's gold-medal-winning Fab Five, landed a coveted spot in Sports Illustrated's 2017 Swimsuit Issue. The gymnasts were photographed by James Macari at a skate park wearing black bikinis for their magazine spreads. Wrote Raisman of her shoot on Instagram, "I'm very proud of my body and how hard I have worked to look like this. I of course like everyone else have my days where I feel insecure and not at my best. BUT I think it is that much more important we love our bodies and support each other."
