"Age ain't nothin' but a number" — this at least according to both Aaliyah, as well as the stars of Lancome's latest #LoveYourAge campaign. Lily Collins, 25, Lupita Nyong'o, 32, Kate Winslet, 39, and Penelope Cruz, 40, all "revealed" their ages in the new ads to promote the brand's Advanced Genifique serum, spreading the "embrace your age" message. Because in the era of the Internet, no one's real number is safe. [Instagram]
Lululemon is taking a stab at the beer game with a new brew called "Curiosity Lager." Yes, you read that correctly — the brand infamous for healthy, yoga-driven lifestyles and high-priced athleisure leggings has developed its own beer with brewery Stanley Park to be sold in Canadian liquor stores. Eighty thousand of the limited edition lagers, which feature lemon drop and chinook hops, will be sold beginning on Aug. 15 to coincide with the SeaWheeze half marathon in Vancouver. Makes sense. T.J. Maxx is in some hot water after deal-savvy customers decided to investigate a little deeper into just how the retailer arrived at the "compare to" number on their tags, which is listed above the T.J. Maxx price. Plaintiffs Staci Chester and Daniel Friedman are suing the company in California courts after discovering that the "full retail price" was not always the true price, but rather an estimate configured by the brand's buying team. Lesson learned: Don't mess with bargain shoppers. [Racked]
Band of Outsiders is officially kaput, but if you long to own a piece of Scott Sternberg's once-beloved brand, here's your chance. The label's secured creditor, Belgian fashion CLCC SA, is auctioning off the intellectual property rights as well as the leftover inventory, which reportedly totals upwards of 5,000 units, on July 29 at the offices of its legal representation in New York.
