Proposed Supreme x Louis Vuitton Pop-Up Denied in NYC [Fashionista]
The 32 members of Manhattan's Community Board No. 2 unanimously voted to deny the proposed pop-up at 25 Bond Street for the retail debut of the much-hyped Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration, citing a lack of management plan to deal with the expected crowd of more than 1,000 shoppers and the street closure. The board "strongly recommended the denial" of the pop-up, which was scheduled to take place between June 29 and July 2. The vote followed a public hearing earlier this month during which residents expressed outrage over an event of this size taking over their "quiet" street. Supreme drops have been known to draw crowds which camp out for days in advance, so their worries are probably valid. Word on the street has it that the brands are also considering a downtown Los Angeles location for the collaboration drop.
