Sorry, we mean designer Brandon Maxwell.

We get it, keeping up with the revolving door of the fashion industry is hard work; in the wise words of one Heidi Klum, "One day you're in, the next day you're out."

But when you're entrenched in the throes of one of the most chaotic businesses about, you would hope that, at the very least, your own family would be clued in to what your typical day looks like.

Moda Operandi put the loved ones of various fashion players — including designers Brandon Maxwell and Wes Gordon, Next Model Management founder Faith Kates and Harper's Bazaar executive editor Laura Brown — to the test, and let's just say not everyone passed.

When asked what her son's job is, Maxwell's mother answered, "A stylist — but he never styles his own mother." Cue Maxwell's exasperated reply: "Mom, this is Moda Operandi. I'm a designer." (To be fair, the transition from stylist to bonafide designer with a collection living on Moda Operandi's site, took place all within the past six months.)

While some parents gave a simplified answer ("You sit at your desk and draw." — Gordon's mom), others were a little more frank ("I have no idea." — Kates' mom). Hey, at least they tried.
