Sundance 2012: Sundance Institute Issues Statement of Support for Hospitalized Indie Exec

Film vet Bingham Ray, who currently serves as executive director of the San Francisco Film Society, has been hospitalized following a stroke.
Bingham Ray, a veteran of the indie film scene, has been hospitalized in Provo, Utah, following a stroke, the San Francisco Film Society, where Ray currently serves as executive director, confirmed on Saturday.
Ray, who previously co-founded October Films and was president of United Artists, joined the San Francisco Film Society in November and oversees the San Francisco Film Festival.
Word of Ray’s hospitalization spread through Park City on Saturday afternoon and was talked about extensively at film screenings. He had been attending the Art House Convergence Conference in Salt Lake City, prior to heading to the Sundance Film Festival, when he became ill and was taken to a hospital.
