Sundance, C4 renew 'Abbey Road'
Beatles tribute episode in the worksLONDON -- FremantleMedia Enterprises has again sold its U.K. music program "Live From Abbey Road" to the Sundance Channel in the U.S. and Channel 4 in the U.K.
The third series has 12 hourlong episodes featuring intimate interview, rehearsal and performance footage from London's iconic Abbey Road studios, famed for hosting recording sessions with the Beatles.
Artists to feature in season three include James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Seal, Fleet Foxes, Keane, the Killers, the Fray and Sugarland. A special tribute episode is also being put together, in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' famous "Abbey Road" album. It will feature yet-to-be-announced artists covering tracks from the album.
Season 3 will be officially launched at international content market MIPTV, held March 30-April 3 in Cannes.
Seasons 1 and 2 have aired in more than 100 territories. Paul Simon, Bryan Adams, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mary J. Blige are among the acts to feature thus far.
