One of the partners in the venture is Andrea Chung, producer of 2015 Sundance entry 'Seoul Searching.'

Kuwaiti industrialist Nawaf Alghanim, a member of the founding family of Kuwait, has launched specialty film financing and production company Al-Ghanim Entertainment, tapping Wes Craven to executive producer its first thriller, The Girl in the Photographs.

Partners in the venture are Andrea Chung — producer of 2015 Sundance entry Seoul Searching, from director Benson Lee Krystal Tiffany Vayda and her brother, Brandon M. Vayda. Seoul Searching makes its world premiere Jan. 30 in Park City.

Alghanim is a member of the Al-Ghanim family, whose vast holdings include a majority of the theaters in Kuwait. His film company, based in Kuwait and Los Angeles, aims to turn out two to three films a year with budgets of up to $15 million. He'll serve as CEO of the entity.

Al-Ghanim Entertainment will both finance and produce Girl in the Photographs, directed by Craven's protege, Nick Simon, who co-wrote The Pyramid. Chung will produce alongside Thomas Mahoney, while the Vaydas will executive produce alongside Alghanim and Craven.

Girl in the Photographs is an original thriller inspired by Craven's Scream, and is set against the backdrop of the fashion world.

Simon is represented by Gramercy Park Entertainment.
