Sunset Strip Music Festival Announces Additional Acts
Joining headliners Linkin Park for the August street festival are Awolnation, Whale, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Slick Rick, Doug E. Fresh and Asher Roth, among others.
The Sunset Strip Music Festival has announced additions to its 2013 lineup.
Awolnation, Whale, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Slick Rick/Doug E. Fresh, Asher Roth, Finch and Street Drum Corps have been confirmed to play at SSMF, which takes place on famed Sunset Boulevard from Aug. 1 through Aug. 3.
Linkin Park will headline in its first Los Angeles performance since May 2012 and will be the band's only concert in North America for the remainder of the year. The band -- along with the festival -- will be creating a different type of fan experience that will let attendees "rock for a cause" by allocating a significant portion of ticket sales to Music for Relief, which provides support for survivors of natural disasters and prevention of such disasters through environmental programs.
While the sixth annual festival takes place outdoors on the Sunset Strip, artists also will perform inside some of Hollywood's iconic strip venues. The Roxy, Whiskey a Go-Go and a special outdoor Viper Room stage will feature full lineups throughout the day and night. Among the acts lined up are Warren G, Egyptian Lover, Andy Clockwise, UpRooted and Stolen Babies.
"Each year, SSMF celebrates the Los Angeles music scene with one-of-a-kind performances on the Sunset Strip," said Roxy owner and SSMF co-producer Nic Adler. "SSMF creates unique moments you won't find anywhere else."
Previous performers include Slash featuring Fergie, Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Aoki, LMFAO, Kid Cudi, Neon Trees, Matt & Kim, Imagine Dragons, Andy Grammer, Public Enemy and many more.
