Super Troopers fans officially have a reason to celebrate.
The sequel's Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign ended on Friday, with the Broken Lizard comedy troupe netting a whopping $4.4 million to make the second film.
Fox Searchlight had agreed to release Super Troopers 2 if the filmmakers could raise $2 million, a sum that was collected just one day into the campaign's March 24 launch.
According to the film's Indiegogo page, the script has already been written, and shooting is set to commence this summer.
The original movie starred and was written by Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske, who are all set to reprise their roles in the follow-up.
Super Troopers grossed $18.4 million in its 2002 release. Broken Lizard's other big-screen projects include 2004's Club Dread and 2006's Beerfest.
