Former 'Survivor' Producer Bruce Beresford-Redman Arrested
Charged with the April 2010 murder of his wife in Mexico, he’s taken into federal custody.
Bruce Beresford-Redman was arrested and taken into federal custody Tuesday evening.
The former Survivor producer was picked up by U.S. Marshals outside his Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., home, according to the website TMZ. Mexican authorities had issued an arrest warrant in connection to the April 2010 murder of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, in the sewer near a resort hotel in Cancun. He has denied the charge.
The federal complaint claims that blood stains were found in Beresford-Redman’s hotel room in Mexico at the time of the incident, including on the sheets and the railing.
And the complaint claims two people staying in the room below Beresford's were awakened by "screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging from the room above."
While Beresford's alleged infidelity has long been considered a motive in the killing, that played into the complaint as well: "The fact of Beresford's affair was confirmed through e-mails obtained by the Mexican authorities in which Beresford admitted to his wife that he had been unfaithful."
It further states that an employee at the hotel witnessed Beresford "attempt to physically assault the woman."
Beresford is due in Los Angeles federal court Wednesday.
