Swedish House Mafia Re-Emerge as Axwell /\ Ingrosso; New Album, Tour Coming
Swedish House Mafia members Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso will release their first-ever artist album, and teased it on a BBC Radio 1 show hosted by Zane Lowe tonight in London.
Lowe was invited for a private playback in the studio with Axwell /\ Ingrosso, which the pair will be called, and decided to take the only piece of music he was allowed to play now, the intro to their new show, and open his BBC radio program by playing it, which the band then posted on Soundcloud.
He followed it up with the band's free download launched last Sunday, a previous classic they used to open Swedish House Mafia shows with -- "We Come We Rave We Love." The band announced it was time to clean out the closet before the new music came, and gave the much-coveted track away on their Soundcloud site.

The duo are releasing their first-ever album under the moniker Axwell /\ Ingrosso. Swedish House Mafia never released a full album despite selling over 10 million records. Not hinting at the project at all until last week, it would appear the majority of the record is now ready and the release will be this year.
Axwell /\ Ingrosso will perform for the first time, including the new music, during their headline slot at Governor's Ball in New York, New York, on June 8.
Solidifying their union, Axwell and Sebastian merged their Facebook pages to form a singular page for the band, a feat never done before -- even Calvin Harris was confused. The move will erase each page's individual history and begin to house their new journey together.
Much speculation has been swirling around, intensifying after their names appeared on the bill for this year's Governor's Ball and V Festival alongside headliners such as Vampire Weekend, Jack White and Justin Timberlake. The band is asking fans to sign up to be a part of the journey on their website, adding to the enigmatic messages. They will go on to headline The Light in Las Vegas and the Bravalla Festival in Sweden with Kanye West. Axwell /\ Ingrosso will also continue their residency at Ushuaia in Ibiza on Wednesdays from June 25 with their event concept, Departures.
STORY: Documentary Starring Swedish House Mafia to Premiere at SXSW
Axwell /\ Ingrosso announced this project after the release of the acclaimed documentary Leave the World Behind. Directed by Christian Larson and executive produced by Jonas Akerlund, the film went to No. 1 worldwide on iTunes. The film follows Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour and the group's eventual break up. Having already been nominated for numerous awards -- including two Grammys -- and sold out huge festivals and arenas worldwide (including a final concert at Madison Square Garden in a record nine minutes), Axwell /\ Ingrosso have a special feeling about performing in New York, having been chosen to light the Empire State Building and, in 2012, throwing a Black Tie Rave in N.Y. to benefit Hurricane Sandy victims, with 100 percent of the net proceeds going to relief efforts. The city honored them by turning the Empire State Building blue and yellow, the official colors of Sweden.
