Swedish Major Svensk Names Antti Toiviainen new Nordic Head of Sales & Distribution
Svensk last year merged with “Easy Money” producer Tre Vanner to form a new regional production and distribution giant in Scandinavia.
In the latest executive shuffle at Scandinavian mini-major Svensk Filmindustri, Antti Toiviainen has been named the new head of Nordic sales and distribution, effectively immediately.
Toiviainen, who will report directly to Svensk CEO Jonas Fors, will oversee all Nordic sales and distribution activities, including theatrical, home entertainment and international sales, for the group while keep his old job as managing director for Svensk's Finnish distribution arm, SF Film Finland.
“Antti and his team have made excellent results in Finland and we are very happy to have him joining and strengthening our Nordic team,” said Jonas Fors. “Film distribution/sales is facing a lot of challenges and Antti’s move to Stockholm and his new assignment is a main part of our strategy to focus on growth, sales and profitability.”
Toiviainen's appointment follows on the heels of Frida Westerberg taking over as Svensk's new COO earlier this month.
The reorganization at Svensk stems from its merger last year with Swedish production company Tre Vanner, the group behind the hit Easy Money film trilogy and TV crime series The Fjallbacka Murders. Fors, former CEO of Tre Vanner, took over as boss of the merged group last October and has set about shaking up things at the staid Swedish giant.
