SXSW: Entertainment One Circling 'Jack Goes Home' (Exclusive)
Thomas Dekker's film, which stars Rory Culkin, had its world premiere Monday night at the festival.
Entertainment One is nearing a deal for worldwide rights to Jack Goes Home, which had its world premiere Monday night in SXSW's Midnighters section.
Thomas Dekker wrote and directed the film, which centers on a Los Angeles-based magazine editor named Jack, who returns to his hometown of Denver to help his mother after his father dies in a car crash. While there, he uncovers long-buried secrets and lies within his family history, his friends and his very identity.
Rory Culkin stars as Jack, while the cast also includes Lin Shaye, Daveigh Chase, Natasha Lyonne, Louis Hunter and Nikki Reed.
Jack Goes Home was produced by Jordan Yale Levine, Scott Levenson, Dekker and Jason Rose.
eOne had no comment on the deal. Sources say interest in the film started at AFM and the deal is being closed at SXSW.
SXSW runs March 11-20 in Austin, Texas.
