SXSW: Gunshots Fired in Downtown Austin During Festival
The shots sent a large crowd running in panic near a restaurant where a local rock band was playing a free show.
Gunshots were fired into the air in downtown Austin, Texas, early Sunday, sending a large crowd celebrating South by Southwest 2016 running in panic.
The incident took place near the intersection of Sixth Street and Trinity by Trinity Hall at Old School Bar & Grill, where Austin rock band Hour Band was playing a free SXSW show, USA Today reports.
Austin police said that one person was taken into custody and the gun was recovered, according to Austin American-Statesman. No injuries were reported.
