SXSW: Teresa Palmer to Star in a Sci-Fi Horror Movie Based on Midnight Shorts Entry
Trevor Ryan is directing the film adaptation, which will also star Mark Webber, based on his short film 'Welcome to Willits: After Sundown.'
Teresa Palmer will play the female lead in a feature adaptation of the horror/sci-fi short film Welcome to Willits: After Sundown, which has screened as part of the Midnight Shorts Competition at this year’s SXSW.
The feature will be directed by Trevor Ryan, who also helmed the short film, and written by Ryan and his brother Tim Ryan, who collaborated on the short. The feature will focus on a group of young campers lost in the woods near Willits, Calif., who become involved with a man obsessed with alien invaders.
Mark Webber will reprise the role he played in the short, and Palmer, who is married to Webber, will play his niece.
Palmer, repped by WME and Management 360, will be seen in Terrence Malick’s upcoming Knight of Cups.
