Taylor Swift Speaks Out Against Apple: Music Industry Reacts
Jack Antonoff and Christina Perri are among those weighing in.
Taylor Swift's open letter against Apple Music is making waves in the music industry.
The "Bad Blood" singer drew attention today when she penned an open letter on Tumblr criticizing Apple's lack of royalty payment in its new service.
"I'm not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers or artists for those three months," Swift wrote. "I find it to be shocking, disappointing and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company."
Many in the music community are suiting up to take Swift's side in this debate, including several of the indie artists she stuck up for in her letter. Here are some early reactions on Twitter.
I liked Taylor's letter to Apple, but I feel like if she was really committed, she would change her name to a symbol. http://t.co/traLkkbESu— Anil Dash (@anildash) June 21, 2015
