MTV VMAs: Taylor Swift Joins Nicki Minaj for "The Night Is Still Young" Duet After Twitter Spat

Swift also performed a few lines of "Bad Blood," poking fun at the short-lived online feud the two singers were recently embroiled in.

Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift showed the audience at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards that there's no more bad blood between the two.

Minaj opened the show with a performance of her hit "Trini Dem Girls" and brought Swift out as a surprise guest as the two sang the lyrics to "The Night Is Still Young."

Both artists, dressed in red ensembles, then faced-off center stage as Swift began crooning to her track "Bad Blood," referencing their recent Twitter spat. The two shared a hug at the closing of their set.

In July, Minaj had called out MTV for not including "Anaconda" as a contender for best video of the year, claiming that "other" girls "drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination." She tweeted, "If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year."

Swift, who felt that Minaj was targeting her comments towards her and her nomination for "Bad Blood," tweeted in response, "I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot..."

The two reconciled after Swift tweeted an apology saying she "misspoke" and invited Minaj to share the stage with her if she ended up winning the night's biggest honor.

Minaj is up for a moonman in three categories this year: best female video, best hip-hop video and best collaboration.

The MTV VMAs, hosted by Miley Cyrus, took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
