TBS to Develop Love Triangle Comedy From 'Cheers' Alum (Exclusive)
Rob Long is attached to write and executive produce the project, with Rick Marin and Ilene Rosenzweig on board.
TBS is inserting itself in a love triangle.
The Turner-owned cable network has ordered a script for comedy, Hot for You. The multi-camera project centers on three best friends who are caught in their own love triangle. The friends, who have opened an upstart, rebel foodie restaurant, think that they can run a business and control their appetites, but they're wrong.
Cheers alum Rob Long is attached to write and executive produce the project, with married writers Rick Marin and Ilene Rosenzweig on board as scribes and co-EPs.
This will be Long's second project in development at TBS. In September, the network ordered his Sullivan and Son to pilot. The half-hour comedy, starring comedian Steve Byrne, centers on the legendary Pittsburgh bar, which serves as the unofficial "town hall" of the working-class neighborhood.
To date, Marin is still best known for authoring CAD: Confessions of a Toxic Bachelor, while Rosenzweig partnered with designer pal Cynthia Rowley to create Swell home accessories and pen a string of Swell-themed books, including The Swell Dressed Party and Home Swell Home.
Long is repped by CAA.
