TCM spends 'A Night at the Movies'

Series to showcase different film genres

Turner Classic Movies will air new series "A Night at the Movies" starting in October.

Each episode of the show will take an in-depth look at a different film genre.

The first episode, highlighting the history of thrillers, will feature interviews with authors, filmmakers and actors including Ken Follett, Bryan Singer, Diablo Cody and Kenneth Branagh.

The episode was written, produced, and directed by Laurent Bouzereau, an award winner for his documentary on Hitchcock's "Rear Window."

The first installment of the DreamWorks Television series will premiere Oct. 2 at 8 p.m., leading off five weeks of Friday-night programming dedicated to thrillers.
