Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has set an Oct. 28 release date for "Tinker Bell," the direct-to-video "Peter Pan" spinoff. The CG-animated film, due on standard DVD and Blu-ray Disc, marks the first time the animated character will speak. She'll be voiced by Mae Whitman, recently signed to replace Brittany Murphy, who had been associated with the project when it was announced nearly two years ago. Also lending their voices are America Ferrera, Lucy Liu and Anjelica Huston.
Warner Premiere is preparing a sequel to the 1987 theatrical hit "The Lost Boys" that will debut July 29 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. "Lost Boys: The Tribe," billed as an "homage" to the original film, will feature returning cast members Corey Feldman and Corey Haim.
The classic teen angst movie "Heathers" is being reissued July 1 as a two-disc 20th anniversary DVD by Anchor Bay Entertainment, seven years after its last DVD appearance. The release, with a newly remastered version of the film, includes a new documentary, "Return to Westerburg High," featuring interviews with writer Daniel Waters and director Michael Lehmann.
