Ted Turner Hospitalized in South America
The CNN founder was being operated on for appendicitis in Buenos Aires, according to media reports.
Ted Turner was rushed to a hospital in South America Friday, his spokesman confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
The 75-year-old CNN and Turner Broadcasting System founder was taken to the San Carlos clinic in Bariloche, Argentina, with appendicitis early on Friday, Reuters reported.
He was then flown to Buenos Aires to be operated on, several Argentine newspapers report.
Turner's spokesman Phillip Evans confirmed to THR that Turner was taken to a South American hospital for observation but wouldn't reveal details about his condition.
"Given it is our policy not to comment on his personal health, no further details will be provided," Evans said.
