Tens of thousands can't keep their eye off that log

An average of 95,000 total viewers tuned in Tuesday to the Los Angeles TV station's 6-10 a.m. telecast of logs burning in a fireplace accompanied by a simulcast of Christmas music from KOST-FM.
The telecast peaked in the 9:15 a.m. quarter-hour with 150,000 total viewers and fell only slightly — to 149,000 — in its last half-hour.
Overall, KCAL was the No. 3 English-language station in the market from 6-10 a.m. Christmas morning, falling short of KABC (160,000) and just behind KTTV (96,000). KABC's Tuesday morning lineup included such network fare as "Good Morning America" and the "Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade" telecast, while KTTV featured local programming including "Good Day L.A." and "Fox 11 Morning News."
Coming in at No. 4 during the 6-10 a.m. time period was KCBS (58,000), followed by KNBC (54,000), KTLA (24,000) and KCOP (8,000).
KCAL and KOST partnered for the yule log telecast in 2004.
