THR-Asia focuses on region
Site with local flavor launches todayThe Hollywood Reporter today launched THR-Asia.com, an English-language site dedicated to serving audiences in Asia with exclusive Q&As, breaking news, in-depth analysis and reviews.
The site is edited out of The Reporter's bureau in Beijing and features contributions from local journalists in Asia as well as The Reporter's worldwide reporting staff.
"The launch of THR-Asia.com reflects the increasingly global and interconnected nature of the entertainment community," said Eric Mika, The Reporter's senior vp and publishing director. "This move further advances our goal to be first in taking the global pulse of the business of entertainment and serving readers and advertisers across the world with the most relevant information and insight delivered on every platform."
Already available on the site are Q&As with director Johnnie To, actress-heiress Josie Ho, Singapore director Royston Tan, Chinese director Li Ying and Thai director Pen-Ek Ratanaruang.
THR Asia's home page features content relevant to Asia at large. From there, readers are directed to locally targeted pages full of content The Reporter's editors expect to be of particular interest to readers in seven Asian regions: China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
