The Hollywood Reporter has inked a licensing partnership with Zong Yi, the entertainment trade magazine owned by the State Administration of Radio, Television and Film in China.

Through the agreement, the first licensing deal between a major Chinese government-owned media organization and Nielsen Business Media, Zong Yi will become the exclusive carrier of THR content in the B2B print market in China.

"China today is marching toward an increasingly open and sophisticated media environment," said Liang Gangjian, president of China Radio and Television Press at SARFT. "This licensing deal will greatly help us establish a presence in the international media arena."

Also, THR will serve as the production, distribution and sales platform for Zong Yi internationally and publish special issues of the trade magazine online and at international film festivals.

"With Nielsen's long-standing relationship with Chinese media authorities and our enduring interest in the Chinese media market, this licensing deal will serve to further stimulate the globalization of Chinese media while also benefiting THR's readers and advertisers," said Eric Mika, THR publisher and vp of the Nielsen Entertainment and Media Group.
