The Hollywood Reporter will launch regional printing with day-and-date delivery in New York and key cities throughout the East Coast.

As part of the move, THR will expand its coverage of the New York and East Coast entertainment markets, providing its national audience with multiplatform access to news, information and data on the business of entertainment.

Eric Mika, THR sr. vp, publishing director, unveiled the initiative, which is expected to debut Nov. 2.

"The launch of a national day-and-date edition of The Hollywood Reporter is the cornerstone of our strategy to make the new Hollywood Reporter the undisputed source of timely news, analysis and data covering all aspects of the global entertainment industry across all platforms," Mika said in making the announcement Monday. "Building on the exceptional talent we have added to our management team over the last several months, national day-and-date distribution dramatically strengthens our ability to serve subscribers and advertisers across the country and in New York, the global center of the business of entertainment."

To further support this strategy, Elizabeth Guider, THR's new editor, will oversee an expansion of the New York and East Coast editorial staff to better capture the unique pulse of the city and all aspects of its entertainment business community — from finance to production to the advertising community.

In addition, regional printing will provide increased flexibility for THR's editorial staff, ensuring more timely, national delivery of the content that is valued and relied upon by the global entertainment community. This move allows for unique content specific to each region while retaining the majority of coverage across the national platform.

"The entertainment news landscape is rapidly changing, and with our distribution expansion The Hollywood Reporter will be well-positioned to be even more timely and relevant," Guider said. "This strategy significantly advances our goal to be first in taking the global pulse of the entertainment biz — with the most current and most valuable information and insight delivered on every platform."

The expansion of the publishing side of THR's business will also allow the company to better serve the marketing needs of the New York and East Coast entertainment establishment.

The day-and-date expansion of THR follows the recent launch of a global digital edition available in more than 10 languages, as well as key executive leadership appointments including Guider as editor and Rose Einstein as associate publisher.

The Hollywood Reporter, now entering its 78th year, is owned by the Nielsen Co.
