The Hollywood Reporter will host 11/2 days of 3-D screenings in Hong Kong on Wednesday and Thursday during Filmart and the 33rd Hong Kong International Film Festival.

In addition, The Reporter will sponsor and moderate a two-hour panel on 3-D with leading industry executives as part of the Hong Kong-Asian Film Financing Forum.

At HAF, the program will include an industry address by Motion Picture Assn. Asia Pacific chief Michael Ellis. Special presentations include "Selling 2D & 3D," presented by Don Savant, managing director of Imax in the region; "The 3D Deployment," by Younghoon Lee, CEO of MasterImage; and a Nielsen White Paper on the topic of 3-D presented by THR publisher Eric Mika.

The Hong Kong fest will premiere DreamWorks Animation's "Monsters vs. Aliens" with special guest Jeffrey Katzenberg on Tuesday. The Reporter's 3-D Screening series will feature Disney's "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" and Focus Features' "Coraline," among other 3-D films, beginning Wednesday.

"As 3-D is playing an ever-important part in the film industry, THR is taking a leading role in bringing the 3-D experience to the Asian public by providing an independent and professional platform during Filmart and the Hong Kong International Film Festival," Mika said. (partialdiff)
